MADRID 13 Oct. () –

The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, criticized this Saturday that on October 12, Hispanic Heritage Day, “there is nothing to celebrate” and has called for the formation of a “well-armed” indigenous militia to ensure “peace and coexistence” in the country, within the framework of an event celebrated on the occasion of the 532 years of the conquest of America by the Spanish Monarchy.

“There is nothing to celebrate, no Columbus Day or race day. If the fascist right wants to celebrate the genocide, it’s up to them, the demons and demons,” Maduro snapped during his telephone intervention before the indigenous and Afro-descendant march to commemorate the Day of Indigenous Resistance in Venezuela, on which the Venezuelan Government has insisted that Spain “should apologize every day” for the “genocide” committed in the 15th century.

“Today, 532 years later, the same imperialism with its supremacist complex is out there, claiming the genocide committed against the people of America. They are the same ones who claim the genocide committed every day by the terrorists who govern the Zionist State of Israel, They are the same people who came to this land to destroy a people who lived in harmony, in community, a wise people, they are the same people who for centuries have stolen natural resources from poor people,” he added in statements collected by the Cocuyo Effect news portal.

Along the same lines, the president has presented the Venezuelans as “a combatant people” that has been “532 years marching towards the process of definitive decolonization” and has pointed out those who have celebrated this Saturday the “day of the race” or “of Hispanicity” as “heirs of slavery, imperialism, conquest (and) genocide”.

In this sense, Maduro has insisted that “the fascists have not and will not be able to” with them and has claimed the need to “continue strengthening the organization” in the country.

“We have to consolidate the Bolivarian National Militia, the Indian militia. Indigenous militiamen, well organized, disciplined and well armed also to defend our land from any intruder who tries to harm peace and coexistence,” he added and so has compiled ‘El Nacional’.

Likewise, the Venezuelan Executive has called to “consolidate all plans” in terms of education, health or housing in their communities, as well as to encourage “the organization of indigenous youth” in the face of the “historical revisionism” that the “new currents “Fascists and racists (…) seek to impose (…) minimizing the atrocities of the process of invasion, occupation, colonization and slavery in American territory.”

Previously, this same Saturday, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Yván Gil, has demanded “recognition, justice and reparation” for the “crimes against humanity” perpetrated during the conquest of America, stating that “the complicity and silence of the elites of Europe and the rest of the world in the face of the current genocide against the Palestinian people, is an example of the need to defend memory”.

In contrast, the Argentine Foreign Minister, Diana Mondido, congratulated this October 12 with a brief “Happy Race Day!”
