The Lunar New Year is one of the most anticipated festivities at the beginning of each year, during which people from all over the world gather to commemorate the beginning of a new cycle full of prosperity and good wishes.
Based on this and taking into account its huge Asian player base, developers such as Riot Games have joined this celebration by releasing a lot of content for several of their titles, as we recently saw with the launch of Season 2023 of League of Legends.
Although, for this occasion, in addition to releasing new aspects for their champions with a special event that includes Teamfight Tactics, Wild Rift Y Legends of Runeterrathey decided to invite their entire community to a great special party that took place in the Frikiplaza in Mexico City, and of which we were also invited to be a part.

The Lunar Delight Sanctuary was present at CDMX
Wrapped in a festive atmosphere where crimson red stood out, this popular meeting point in the Mexican capital received hundreds of players for 2 days, who gathered before noon to enjoy this fusion between Asian culture and video games.
As soon as it began, the attendees were surprised with a performance of the impressive lion dance, brought by the Fuerza Leona group. This particular traditional dance is one of the biggest banners of the Lunar New Year celebration, as it is part of the message of good luck and fortune that it reflects.
During both dates, content creators such as Kalipso and a large part of the Latin American League’s on-camera talent were also present at the venue, so that viewers were able to interact with them first-hand prior to the start of the 2023 Opening season.
Throughout the day we were able to count on extra performances of the lion dance, all having a different focus as the day progressed. And for all those who wanted to show their skills, Riot made several teams available around the stage to play a quick game of League of Legends either Teamfight Tacticsall this for free.
Additionally, on various screens around the place we were able to see several fanarts made by members of the community related to the celebration, along with conceptual art of the new Lunar Revel 2023 skins, and some special videos in which various Riot partners are commemorated. and their trajectories in esports.
As the sun went down and the environment began to turn reddish, making it similar to that of a sanctuary, it was time to witness one of the most anticipated activities by all: the cosplay contest.
Dressed in various aspects not only related to the Lunar Festival, several talented cosplayers gathered here to show their work and dedication in front of the public. All this while receiving applause ovations that defined the best presentations of the night, which stood out for the quality of their designs and the complexity of their props.
Once the last lion dance of the day was over, a nostalgic show of lanterns and lights was in charge of closing the evening in the Frikiplaza, to the rhythm of a beautiful soundtrack specially created for this Lunar Delight celebration.
Undoubtedly, Riot focused hard on connecting its community with Asian culture through this face-to-face event, which marks the beginning of a new season that promises to bring a lot to its players, beyond the rocky start they had. this year.
