Baldur's Gate 3 It came out last summer and since then it has been recognized in the main video game awards, a success that Larian Studio is not going to transfer to a sequel, confirming instead the work of two new projects of its own and independent of this saga.
Those responsible for Baldur's Gate 3 are working on their next update, Patch 7, which in addition to correcting some bugs, will improve evil endings and will introduce new modification tools to transform this title “into the strange nightmare realm of your dreams.”
They also hope to add in the future crossplay and a photo modebut they rule out continuing the story, whether in the form of a new narrative, expansion or even a sequel, as they explain in an update shared on the community forum on steam.
In this way, they confirm that there will be no Baldur's Gate 4, and, instead, they will focus on the development of new titles of their own. “We are currently working on two new projects and we couldn't be more excited about what the future holds,” they say.
Larian Studio released this game inspired by Dungeons and Dragons in August of last year. The commitment to offering an open world to explore freely, in which the lore of the popular role-playing game is adapted into a story and with characters that depend on the player's decisions, has obtained recognition in awards such as those presented by Golden Joysticks, Game Developers Choice, DICE and The Game Awards, as well as BAFTA Games Awards, Hugo Awards and GLAAD Media Awards, among others.
