() — Oscar winner Martin Scorsese’s new film, “Killers of the Flower Moon,” hits theaters in October.
The production stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone, Robert De Niro and Jesse Plemons.
Based on a true story, “Killers” is a hybrid western crime drama mixed with the unlikely love story of Ernest Burkhart (DiCaprio) and Mollie Kyle (Gladstone) at the center of the plot.
“In the early 20th century, oil brought a fortune to the Osage Nation, making its members overnight some of the richest people in the world,” the film’s official synopsis relates. “The wealth of these Native Americans immediately attracted white interlopers, who manipulated, extorted, and stole as much money from the Osage as they could before resorting to murder.”
This Wednesday also published a new trailer, along with the film’s release date, which will be on October 6 in select theaters and in full-scale on October 20, before streaming globally on Apple TV+
“Killers of the Flower Moon” is directed by Scorsese from a screenplay by Eric Roth and Scorsese, based on the bestselling book by David Grann.
