Khamenei advisor says Iran will respond to Israel's attacks and increase the range of its missiles

MADRID Nov. 1 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Kamal Jarazi, a close advisor to Iran’s highest authority, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has assured that the Israeli attacks “will not go unanswered” and has announced that Tehran is working to increase its missile capacity.

Jarazi has said that until now they have taken into account “the sensitivity of Westerners, especially Europeans” regarding the range of their missiles, but after they have proven not to take Iran into account, “there is no longer any reason to consider” your concerns.

“There is, therefore, the possibility that the range of Iranian missiles will increase,” he said in an interview for the Al Mayadeen channel, which has been echoed by Iranian news agencies.

Likewise, he has stressed that Iran reserves its right to review its current nuclear policy if it considers that its security is at risk. “We now have the capacity to produce weapons, the only obstacle is the religious ban,” said Jarazi, Khamenei’s foreign policy adviser.

On the other hand, he has warned that Iran will respond “at the right time and in the right way” to the latest Israeli attacks against Iranian military facilities in retaliation for those launched by Tehran in early October.

“We are ready for war. Of course we do not want it to spread to the entire region (…) if Israel wants to continue its aggression, naturally we will also respond,” he said.

Jarazi has celebrated the “miscalculation” of the Israelis who “thought they could destroy Hamas and Hezbollah by attacking Gaza and Lebanon, that by killing their leaders, these popular movements would be appeased.”

“Many in Israel admit these erroneous calculations because the thought of resistance and freedom cannot be destroyed through military operations,” Jarazi said.
