Islamic State claims responsibility for the attack near the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan

March 28 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The jihadist group Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the suicide attack on Monday near the headquarters of the Afghan Foreign Ministry in the capital, Kabul, which left at least six dead.

According to a statement published by the Amaq agency, established by the group to disseminate its propaganda, the attack was carried out by a terrorist who “managed to cross the door” of the building after “overcoming all the fortifications” of the security forces.

Thus, the group has ensured that the terrorist “waited for the employees to leave the building and activated an explosive belt near them in the vicinity of a checkpoint”, causing 20 victims, “between deaths and injuries”.

The spokesman for the Kabul Police, Khalid Zadran, indicated after the event that the Taliban forces opened fire on the terrorist at a checkpoint “before he reached his objective.” Likewise, he explained that the attacker “activated his explosives”, killing six civilians and injuring several people.

Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP), which considers the Taliban traitors to the orthodoxy of ‘sharia’ or Islamic law and defends a much harsher interpretation, has been the target of a security campaign by the Taliban after its campaign of attacks in recent months in Afghanistan.
