Iron Man, 15 years later: Kevin Feige and Jon Favreau talk about what this movie represented

The Marvel Cinematic Universe wouldn’t be the same without Hombre de Hierro. Marvel Studios He had already reaped some revenue from Sony’s Spider-Man movies, but he wanted his own superhero movie saga, so he used Tony Stark to lay the first brick or foundation of an entire multi-billion dollar franchise.

The responsibility would be given to Jon Favreau, who not only acted on the tape as Happy Hogan, but also took charge of directing and adapting the comics to the big screen. Marvel Studios has released a small documentary on its YouTube channel where it talks about this project.

The tape that really inspired Favreau was Transformers, which already had advanced special effects, especially in the reflection of light and the environment in metallic texture. For this reason, Iron Man exposes his second version of the suit without paint.

They were also helped by the practical effects because the director already had experience in the film Zathura. However, they put most of the responsibility on the special effects department, even the first costume was made on the computer.

Jon Favreau and Kevin Feige also remember when they cast or cast. Not only was Robert Downey Jr. truly talented, but all the contestants stand out, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Terrence Howard, and Jeff Bridges.

What does the future hold for Marvel?

Marvel Studios is currently working on phase 5 of the UCM. Two important films in the multiverse saga have already been screened: Ant-Man Quantumania and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3, and one of them has met with bad reviews, while the second has received very good marks.

As it is a transition stage in the UCM, several characters will leave their roles, such as Gamora, but others who have a lot of potential will be added, such as Adam Warlock. On June 21, the following production will premiere: Secret Invasion.

There, we will once again see Nick Fury, who must solve the problems derived from the promises he made to the Skrulls.
