Iran calls Israel's accusations of plot to attack Israelis in Turkey 'ridiculous'

June 24. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Government of Iran has branded this Friday as “ridiculous” Israel’s accusations about the existence of a plan to attack Israelis in Turkey, after it came to light that the Turkish security forces had arrested a dozen people for his alleged involvement in this plot.

The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Said Jatibzadé, has indicated that these are “unfounded” accusations and has pointed to “a pre-designed scenario to destroy relations between the two Muslim countries.”

In this sense, he stressed that “Iran’s response to the assassinations and sabotage of the Israeli regime will always be authorized and without damaging the security of ordinary citizens and the security of other countries,” according to a series of messages from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran on his account on the social network Twitter.

According to information collected by the Turkish newspaper ‘Hurriyet’, the security forces last week arrested ten alleged members of the Intelligence services and the Revolutionary Guard of Iran who were planning attacks against Israeli citizens in Istanbul.

Israeli authorities have repeatedly asked their citizens in recent months to avoid travel to Turkey in light of Tehran’s alleged plans to carry out attacks against them in retaliation for the assassination of a senior Iranian Revolutionary Guards official.
