() — Iconic British-French actress and singer Jane Birkin has died at the age of 76, affiliate BFMTV reported on Sunday, citing its sources.
Birkin was born in London, but moved to Paris when he was 20 years old to work on a movie called “Slogan”.
She fell in love with its protagonist, the French actor and singer Serge Gainsbourg, and both quickly became the object of public fascination. The pair often collaborated professionally, both performing memorably on “Je t’aime… moi non plus.”

Although her relationship with Gainsbourg made her a household name, Birkin quickly became a star in her own right and a fashion icon in France, despite being British.
It was the inspiration for the famous Birkin bag from the French luxury house Hermes.
