( Spanish) — In November 2022, more than 4 million Colombians will receive a new round of their bimonthly contributions from the Solidarity Income program, a program created during the covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
November 2022 will be the last month in which this contribution will be paid, since President Gustavo Petro said that for payments in November and December, the contribution will become 500,000 pesos per month for mothers who are heads of households (about US$103 at the current exchange rate). ), because due to lack of budget, the government will not be able to continue paying this contribution.
Until September of this year, the beneficiaries of Solidarity Income receive 190,000 pesos each month, which will accumulate to be paid every two months. In other words, it is expected that in May each household will receive about 380,000 pesos (about US$100 at the current exchange rate).
The beneficiaries are families with limited economic resources identified in the Sisbén databases, which classify families by “their ability to generate income and quality of life,” according to the National Planning Department.
