Honor announces Spatial Audio technology, with three-dimensional sound effects and focused on VR experiences

Sep. 2 (Portaltic/EP) –

Honor has announced the Spatial Audio audio solution, designed for headsets to produce wide 3D sound effects and provide the sense of immersion needed for augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) experiences.

The company has unveiled this technology within the framework of the IFA in Berlin, where it has also presented its latest bet in the ‘smartphones’ section, the new Honor 70.

In this context, the manufacturer has announced the Spatial Audio solution, designed to offer immersive and three-dimensional sound through headphones thanks to the accelerometer and gyroscopes of these ‘wearables’ to track the movements of the users’ heads.

This technology readjusts the sound field to give you an immersive audio experience in all use cases, whether watching movies, playing music or playing video games.

Thanks to the algorithm, changes in the sound can be simulated as it travels between the source and the user’s ears. Additionally, the effects include locating sound sources at all angles (above, below, behind, and in front of the listener).

Likewise, Honor has stressed that this spatial audio supports sound externalization distance adjustment. This allows dynamically adjusting the distance of virtual sound sources from 0.15 to 10 meters.

HONOR MAGICBOOK 14 AND PAD8

Other products presented by the Chinese company are the Honor MagicBook 14 laptop, the first to incorporate a system that improves battery life and offers greater energy efficiency (Honor Turbo), and Honor Pad 8.

The first is a laptop that has a 12th generation Intel Core i5-12500H processor and a 75 Wh battery, which has up to 17 hours of standby time and allows fast charging.

On the other hand, Honor Pad 8 is a tablet with a 12-inch FullView 2K display and 87 percent screen-to-body ratio. It also supports a resolution of 2000 x 1200 pixels and one billion colors.

This device, made in a single color Blue Hour (blue), is equipped with a 7250 mAh battery and works with the Honor Magic UI 6.1 Android-based customization layer.

MAGIC AND DUAL FLAGSHIP

Within the framework of what is considered the largest European technology fair, the Chinese company has presented the Dual Flagship strategy, with which it will introduce its next folding flagships in Europe and other regions of the world.

Likewise, it has shown the MagicOS 7.0 self-developed operating system, designed with a multiplatform format, based on both Android and PC and IoT operating systems and which will be available in the last quarter of 2022.

In addition to introducing interface changes, MagicOS 7.0 will allow users to control different devices, such as a laptop, a tablet and a smartphone, with a single keyboard and mouse.

In this way, users will be able to drag files between devices in a fluid way, as well as write text on the ‘smartphone’ or tablet with the keyboard of their laptop.

Another of the brand’s announcements has focused on its association with different IoT consortiums, including Matter and Ola, as well as the extension of its agreement with Microsoft to make Phone Link available to international users.

With this, it has indicated that, starting in October, the improved Honor Health app will feature personalized user interfaces and offer fitness suggestions and training exercises based on the needs of Honor device owners.
