Avalanche Software has offered a showcase of 45 minutes during which he has shown a new and generous gameplay of Hogwarts Legacy focused on two aspects of the title: the character creator and the combat system. The event has also served to see the game’s interface, which until now was a mystery, and take a tour of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Hogwarts Legacy will be available on February 10 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC. The Nintendo Switch version will come later.

The Hogwarts Legacy Character Creator has, like many other games, initial default settings that can be used to select your character. Once the base is chosen, the rest of the options allow you to modify it. “Our goal with this is for everyone who has fantasized about coming to school for the first time to feel like they have all the options to represent who they are and basically bring their personality to Hogwarts or whatever character they want to bring to Hogwarts,” says Alan Tew. , Headmaster of Hogwarts Legacy.

During the video you can see a member of Avalanche Software create a character and the truth is that there are many customization options, including scars, shadows on the cheeks, moles and tone of voice, so that each one can configure their magician or ideal witch. Additionally, throughout the campaign there are customization options that are unlocked, such as more types of glasses and skins. Whoever wants can make his character identical (or very similar) to Harry Potter who plays Daniel Radcliffe in the movies.

The character is baptized in the final part of the creation process. In the same section it is also decided if he is a magician or a witch and the difficulty is chosen. Hogwarts Legacy has the traditional Easy, Normal and Hard, to which it adds a story mode that is a way to play without having to worry too much.

The last 15 minutes of showcase they are dedicated to the combat system. While in the video we see the character go to a training room with mannequins, the game director Alan Tew explains in great detail how the controls work during combat and how combos are executed. To put what they have learned into practice, the mannequin is exchanged for three real enemies and there it is quickly verified that during combat, Hogwarts Legacy players must pay attention to many elements.

To make things easier, the game features a color system that helps identify spells based on their function, while a halo on the head warns that an enemy is about to attack. To defend yourself there is the option to deflect the attack by pressing a button or hold it down to counterattack and return it. Defensive options can also be interspersed in combos.
