PlayStation Plus (which until last summer divided its payment services into two modalities, PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now) went from 30-40 percent of total subscribers to cloud services in 2021 to 10-20 percent in 2022.

Something similar happened to Nvidia GeForce Now, which went from a value between 20 and 30 percent of total subscribers to cloud services to 20-20 percent.

From the CMA they point out that “many see the lack of content on the Stadia platform, based on Linux, as a major contributor to its failure” and they insist that “this shows that porting games to an alternative operating system – that is, forcing developers to create new compatible versions – is not a feasible option for Windows.”
