Google returns to serve malware in the first result of its searches

As has been seen in the PC Master Race subreddit, some users are seeing how Google is serving malware as the first result of certain searches, as would be the case with AMD graphics drivers. This had happened before, being that time MSI Afterburner the program affected by the appropriation of the name.

While it’s clear that the main problem is getting these sites to exist in the first place, Google shouldn’t be turning malware sites into ads that can sit on top of official web pages, especially when it is so easy for the search giant whether the advertised website is the official AMD one or not.

This is happening around the same time frame that Google wants to try to take down active and passive ad blockers, somewhat understandable considering that ads are part of their business, but on the other hand, they end up serving users as a precaution so as not to fall into the traps that even Google puts in our path.

In any case, for now we will have to pay attention to where we click when we search for anything in Google, especially the web address, which will be what reveals to us if we are entering where we think we are going.
