Today there was bad news for Google STADIA users, as the giant technology company announced that after only 3 years of operation the service will stop working, so it will be added to the great list of failed Google projects. Naturally, this news will have direct repercussions for the company; However, the development studios involved in the project will perhaps be the ones that will feel the closure the most, since Google did not even notify them that the platform would cease to exist.
You read that right, the developers became aware of Google STADIA’s cancellation at the same time as you and everyone else who heard about it in the news. No official communication in advance or internally by Google.
Google did not offer details about its partners, but creatives from studios with agreements with the company came out to speak about the announcement of which they were not notified.
The co-founder of SFB Games (snipperclips), Tom Vian, is one of them and took advantage of his Twitter account to reveal that the port of tangle tower for Google STADIA it was going to debut in just 2 days, on October 1.

Google did not notify studios about the closure of Google STADIA
The most interesting thing is that Vian confessed that he knew nothing about the closure, but, like all people, he found out today through a video game news portal. The above, of course, is strange, since being a studio that is developing for the game it is expected that it will have a closer communication with Google about the future of the platform (after all, the studio is spending resources to carry out a port and the fact that Google STADIA closes at the beginning of 2023 means that it will not have much time to try to recover the production costs).
“It’s very annoying,” Vian said, though he made it clear that the people on the Google STADIA team have been very good over the past few months and very supportive.
Just want to say that the Stadia team themselves have all been wonderful the past few months, genuinely the most supportive folks! Whatever Google teams they end up moving to will be lucky to have them.

The case of SFB Games was not the only one, since Rebecca Heineman, general director of the Old Skuul studio, also mentioned that she is in a similar situation: no one at Google warned her that the cloud platform was near its end. The title that this studio has in development will debut 1 month later, on November 1, 2022.
It was, however, Mike Rose, founder of publisher No More Robots, who made the strongest criticism of the company.
In case you missed it: Google STADIA was going to arrive in Mexico.
We have a title coming out November 1st. Now we hear about this.

Studios refused to bring their games to Google STADIA due to poor communication from Google
Like the other 2 studios, No More Robots will release a new game for Google STADIA next November, so it will also have a short time on the platform before its closure.
Rose lashed out at the company for the terrible communication it has with its partners and confessed that hours after the announcement of the cancellation of the Google cloud project, it has not received from Google, so there is no certainty about what will happen with its games, agreements or anything.
“It really would have been great if they had let their partners know or even contacted us already,” Rose said.
Precisely Rose mentioned that this, the terrible communication that Google has with its partners and the uncertainty that this generated regarding the future of the project, is the reason why many developers decided not to bring their games to Google STADIA.
Hours later and I still have no email from Stadia, and no clarity on what’s happening with our games, deals, anything
Really would have been nice if they’d told partners, or even got in contact with us by now?
