As can be seen, the Google Pixel Fold will have a structure similar to that of phones like the Galaxy Z Fold4 or the Huawei Mate X3, with a “compact” exterior screen for use with one hand and a large folding interior that transforms the mobile in a kind of pocket tablet. The technical specifications are for now a secret, although unofficial information indicates a size for the external screen of 5.8 inches and 7.6 inches for the interior.
The rest of the tab can only be made based on leaks. Sources consulted by the chain CNBC indicate that it will use a Tensor G2 processor of its own design and a hinge mechanism that is already described as the most durable in the industry. What will have to be seen is if the screen remains completely flat or if, like other phones, it ends up showing the typical reliefs in the area where it folds.
Other details yet to be confirmed indicate that the Google Pixel Fold will have a folded thickness of 12.1 mm and a total weight of 282 grams. It will offer some resistance to water and will have USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, still rare in the market.
Google should fully unveil the Pixel Fold and open for pre-orders next week. Then we will know details as important as the price, which apparently will exceed $1,700 in the United States.
