The PlayStation 5 was officially launched in November 2020, but getting it has been a real odyssey in these two years of waiting. From being attentive to your Restocking until the almost impossible mission of going to a store and buying only the console, that is, without game packs and accessories that would force us to pay more.
Now, however, things seem to be changing. Sony assures that from now on “it should be much easier” to find the PlayStation 5 in stores throughout Spain. The expected news from the Japanese company has been accompanied by the “Live from PS5” announcement that we had seen in Anglo-Saxon countries, but now dubbed in our language.
The announcement that was long overdue
Sony celebrates the end of the stock problems that hurt the marketing of its new console with an announcement rich in reference to his games. ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man 2‘, ‘Final Fantasy XVI’, ‘Assassin’s Creed Mirage’, among others, appear in the video that we can see below and he finishes off the cinematographic shots with a “now available in stores”.
Specific, according to the PlayStation Spain blog, the console can now be purchased at El Corte Inglés, Carrefour, FNAC, GAME and Media Markt. The production improvements are apparently paying off, and just in time for the recent launch of the VR2 second-generation virtual reality headset that’s now available for purchase.
The truth is that although the announcement of availability in stores that we see today should have arrived a long time ago, it should be noted that the original launch of the PlayStation 5 did not come at the best time. The shortage of chips along with other factors made players wait a long time for the desired console.
PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan claimed at CES 2023 that 30 million PS5s had been sold since its launch. Besides, predicted that sales they could reach 45 million by the end of this year. At the moment, all the waiting to know if the stock problems have been resolved and, finally, we can forget about the waiting lists.
