They consider that the attack on Israeli soil marked a “strategic turn” in the conflict
Oct. 5 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip have “celebrated” the first anniversary of the October 7 attack on Israeli soil by calling for an “escalation” of the “resistance” and have reiterated their minimum demands for a possible peace agreement. cease-fire.
“The Palestinian factions urge our people and the resistance in the West Bank, Jerusalem, the occupied interior and on all fronts to escalate the resistance at all levels, especially the armed resistance,” they stated in a statement published after a meeting held with occasion of the anniversary of the “glorious October 7” and reported by the Palestinian newspaper ‘Felesin’.
In particular, they point out as objectives the protection of the Al Aqsa Mosque, stopping the Judaization of Jerusalem, stopping the “savagery of the settlements”, ending the “racial discrimination against our people in the occupied interior” and “stopping the inhumane treatment of our prisoners”.
They thus highlight the work of the “proud and noble resistance” against Israel’s attempt to “attack Palestinian identity and existence” and reiterate that “there will be no pact or agreement unless the demands of our people are met: cessation of aggression, complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, reopening of the border crossings, end of the blockade, reconstruction and a serious prisoner exchange.
“We salute the heroes of our proud resistance in the cities and (refugee) camps of the West Bank who rebel against Zionist aggression, tyranny and terrorism,” they noted. “Blessed are their heroic operations (attacks). We ask them to continue with the escalation of the resistance and that the occupation and its bands of settlers pay the price for their crimes and aggressions against our people,” they added.
The Palestinian factions also salute “all fronts from which our people are supported and who have engraved their names on the right side of History.”
The ultimate goal is a free Palestinian state with its capital in Jerusalem and they therefore reject “any idea or attempt to create an alternative administration alien to the national consensus and the will of the Palestinian people” and warn that any external administration “will be dealt with if it were the Zionist occupation.”
The text highlights that the Palestinian militias “are in good condition and in continuous coordination on all their fronts” in continuation of the so-called Al Aqsa Flood Operation, in reference to the October 7 attack in which the Palestinian militias from Gaza managed to break through. In Israeli territory, they killed 1,200 people and kidnapped around 240.
