The current year has been one of very strong launches in the world of video games and they will not stop until the last month. One of the strong titles for December is The Callisto Protocolaround which there are many expectations for being the creator of dead space and because, apparently, it will offer a promising survival horror experience. If this FPS had already captured your attention, get ready, the studio has just shared a new reason to be excited about the game.
In recent events, the developer Striking Distance Studios has been present to share gameplay previews of The Callisto Protocol. Precisely at gamescom 2022, the studio took a new look at the game’s combat and the risks of the environment that will affect both the protagonist and the enemies.
The video ended with a gameplay section in which the protagonist had to descend in a vertiginous way and that had a fatal outcome.

The Callisto Protocol will offer a spectacular moment
Well, today we know that this sequence was one of the most complicated to achieve for the study due to the simulation of the current at high speed. So he confessed to Twinfinite Striking Distance Studios’ chief technology officer, Mark James. Despite the above, the sequence was very well achieved, since the special effects used for the fluid make it look realistic and communicate the sensation of speed.
However, James confessed that it has not been the most difficult thing to achieve. According to the developer, there is a “big event” in the game that hasn’t been shown, but in terms of visuals it’s more elaborate and more spectacular.
Unfortunately, James didn’t share more about it, so we’ll have to wait to see what he means. The wait could be long, as we do not know if the studio will present this spectacular moment in a trailer or if it will be reserved for players to discover when they play The Callisto Protocol for the first time.
