It was a matter of time before the modding community got down to work to expand this work. Although there are projects that improve the graphic quality or alter some elements of the gameplay, there are others whose sole purpose is to feed your worst nightmares.
It’s undeniable that playing as an adorable orange kitten is one of the most striking elements of this popular video game from BlueTwelve Studio and Annapurna Interactive. However, a modder decided it was a good idea to replace the cute little animal with a human. And yes, we anticipate that the result is fascinating and terrifying in equal parts.

The horror! Carl “CJ” Johnson is the protagonist of Stray thanks to this mod
Specifically, the modder known as Sirgalahad172 replaced the pussycat from stray by CJ, main character of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. This turns the cyberpunk exploration video game into a survival horror experience worthy of your worst nightmares.
We say this because the Grove Street criminal deforms his body and contorts all his limbs in unnatural ways to fit the 3D model of the kitten from Stray. Needless to say, the form it takes is very disturbing, but to a certain extent it has its charm.
The author responsible for this ingenious and terrifying project claims that he did it as a joke, since he considers that all existing games should include at least one CJ mod. “I played like this for a few minutes and I already hate it, but I consider playing the whole game like this,” one fan claimed. “You will go to hell for this, and that I do not even believe in the afterlife,” another player sentenced.
