G7 leaders addressed migration on the second day of their summit in Italy, as an issue of particular interest to the host country, which is on one of the main routes to the European Union for people fleeing war and poverty in Africa, the Middle East and Asia. At the same time that the United States implements measures to stop the arrival of migrants. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stressed the importance of cooperation and respect to face challenges.

The G7 will ask China to stop feeding Putin’s military machine amid the invasion of Ukraine. Pope Francis joined the summit to address the issue of the use of artificial intelligence.

The presidents of Brazil, Lula DaSilva, and Argentina, Javier Milei, arrived as guests at the meeting. Milei greeted Pope Francis and Joe Biden at the beginning of their agenda at the G7. Before him he was received by Giorgia Meloni.

Climate change, industrial policy and China’s economic security are also discussed at the meeting at a luxury resort in the Puglia region of southern Italy.
