Following splashdown, NASA and SpaceX recovery teams quickly secured the spacecraft and assisted the astronauts during egress.
ADDITIONAL MEDICAL EVALUATION
“The passengers were transported to a local medical center for further evaluation,” NASA reported in an update. The crew exited the Dragon spacecraft and boarded a recovery ship for standard post-flight medical evaluations. As a precaution, all crew members were transported to the facility together.
Meanwhile, the Dragon spacecraft was returned to the SpaceX facility at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida for inspection and reconditioning for future missions.

During their mission, the crew members They traveled almost 160 million kilometers and completed 3,760 orbits around the Earth. They conducted new scientific research to advance human exploration beyond low Earth orbit and benefit human life on Earth.
Research and technology demonstrations included conducting stem cell research to develop organoid models to study degenerative diseases, exploring how fuel temperature affects the flammability of materials, and studying how spaceflight affects the immune function of astronauts. Their work aims to improve the health of astronauts during long-duration space flights, contributing to critical advances in space medicine and benefiting humanity. NASA reports.
The return of Crew-8 follows the arrival of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-9 at the orbiting laboratory on September 29, within the ‘space taxi’ program signed by NASA with Space X to transport astronauts in Earth orbit.
