Today we discover a new hobby of Elon Musk: he loves fonts. He has acknowledged that designing the Tesla and SpaceX logos was “an agony”.

Sometimes it happens that you make an irrelevant comment on Twitter, and Elon Musk himself appears to respond to you. This user praised the typeface of the Tesla logo, and Elon Musk responded, explaining the theme:

Elon Musk prefers sans-serif typefaces, that is, without embellishments at the ends of the letters. What is technically called “sans serif”.
A little known curiosity is that tesla Logo, T-shaped, intended to resemble cross section of an electric motor.
In the case of SpaceX, it is surprising how similar the typeface is to Tesla, but its distinctive range is the letter X of the logo. This cross of the elongated X pays homage the orbit described by a space rocket when it takes off from Earth and leaves the planet, as Musk himself instructs us again:

Although it is a matter of taste, it must be recognized that the Tesla and SpaceX logos are really elegant and inspiring.
