DuckDuckGo opens its free temporary mail service that protects from trackers to everyone

25 Aug. (Portaltic/EP) –

DuckDuckGo has opened to all users the free temporary or disposable mail service which it launched last year in beta phase, with the aim of providing a second ’email’ address for subscriptions and ‘spam’.

DuckDuckGo’s new privacy solution allows the user to create a temporary or disposable email without the need to change the usual email provider, but which incorporates privacy protections against trackers.

‘Email Protection’ appeared last year in a beta phase that required those interested to sign up for a waiting list to test it. This Thursday, the company announced its openingbeing available from the mobile app by DuckDuckGo and in browsers.

This service allows you to create a new secondary mail with domain @duck.com, which can be useful for subscriptions to ‘newsletter’, free trials or services where the user does not want to use their usual address, which tend to fill the inbox with ‘spam’ and advertising.

The company has highlighted the privacy protection that it offers with this mail service, since it has implemented protection against link tracking and intelligent encryption against unencrypted links, and functions such as direct response.
