The leading music streaming company claims that the voice of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) DJ is “astonishingly realistic”. The idea is that this IAl becomes familiar with the user and his musical tastes in such a way that he knows what music to play when you activate it, according to a report from Tech Crunch.
DJ will comment on the artists and songs he mixes for you. And it will come in handy in those moments when you don’t have the time or inclination to tell Spotify what to play. And it will also be ideal for discovering new music related to your tastes.
The feature is powered by OpenAI, but is still in beta testing, and will only be available to English Premium subscribers in the United States and Canada at launch today.
The Artificial Intelligence race among the big tech companies has already started, Microsoft has already released the AI chatbot Bing and it is now available for Android and iOS. Spotify now has its own proposal on how to take advantage of the advances in this technology by offering new services to users.
DJ, Spotify explained, is a combination of its personalization technology, an AI voice acquired in 2022, and a generative AI by using OpenAI technology.
Such technology was perfected by music publishers, experts, screenwriters, and content and data curators.
