Diablo IV Season 5 will be the last before the launch of the Vessel of Hatrred expansion, and that means it will begin on August 6 and end on October 8. Blizzard Entertainment today revealed the first details of the new season and announced that the main novelty will be a new activity endgame called Infernal Horde that presents characteristics of a roguelite. Before accessing this content, players must complete a quest line that takes place after the events of the main campaign and will be available in the seasonal realm and the eternal realm.

Infernal Horde is a mode in which players face a series of waves in the Realm of Hate, entered using a Hell Compass obtained from other activities. endgame. Each wave lasts 90 seconds and when all enemies have been eliminated, the player can choose between three Infernal Offers. Infernal Offers are stackable, allow you to select between three advantages and disadvantages, and offer the opportunity to increase the difficulty in exchange for earning more Burning Aether, a new currency for loot. There are also options for those who do not want more intensity.

Once the waves are completed, players will face the Fell Council and if they defeat it they will be able to use Burning Aether to unlock Spoils of Hell. There will be four different Spoils of Hell (equipment, materials, gold, and equipment with a guaranteed higher affix).

The difficulty of the Infernal Horde will depend on the level of the Hell Compass. There are eight levels and each level increases the number of waves. Five for levels I to III and up to a maximum of 10 waves for level VIII. With each level the difficulty of the monsters and the quality of the rewards also increase, while the number of resurrections decreases. To increase the level of the Hell Compass beyond III you have to use Abyssal Scrolls.
