The remake of dead space will improve the narrative of the series
As we told you, the game will be very faithful to the original story, but it will not be an identical remake. EA Motive prepared changes for good, since with them it will improve the gameplay and the horror experience in general, precisely with the new Intensity Director, coupled with improvements in sound, visuals and more.
“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” was the philosophy with which EA Motive approached every part of the remake, according to the game’s lead level designer, Catherine Stewart. “Most of the time, it was about not moving the parts that made the game so great, and improving the ones that were problematic, where we thought we could do better. Walking that line was often difficult, but I think We struck a very good balance.”
This treatment with “surgical precision” was applied in the narrative. Director Roman Campos-Oriola recalled in a new development article that this applied to the narrative, since, naturally, after the original game came several more games and other resources that expanded the lore or universe of dead space. The remake will take advantage of all of this existing material to improve the continuity of the narrative and lore.
