This storm has already left at least a dozen dead in recent weeks
March 13 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Tropical Cyclone Freddy has made landfall for the second time in Mozambique, this time affecting the city of Quelimane, in the center of the country, which has been left without electricity or telecommunications.
As reported by the World Food Program, the cyclone has returned to Mozambican territory this Saturday with winds of 148 kilometers per hour, adding that the agency is alert to respond in coordination with the Government.
The storm has affected homes, which have been damaged, as well as infrastructure, such as schools or health centers, as reported by the Lusa agency.
However, the authorities have not updated the cost of the damage, maintaining the information of a registered death during the weekend after a house collapsed due to the storm.
The death toll from the first passage of the cyclone through Mozambique – which had also passed through Madagascar – amounted to ten fatalities as a result of the adverse conditions for several days.
