Cluster Initiatives Platform and other IAPT launches Community newsletter

The Platform of Cluster Initiatives and other Territorial Productive Articulation Initiatives (IAPT) of Latin America and the Caribbean was launched on December 12, 2023, the same day the Community was created. This space was created with the purpose of giving visibility and interconnecting people and institutions that promote productive development, through the generation of collective actions that adopt a territorial approach and participatory management of common actions in the region.

To date, the Platform is made up of 293 cluster initiatives and other IAPTs, of which 63,747 companies are members from 14 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. Where Chile and Colombia are the countries with the highest number of registered initiatives, 99 and 84 cluster initiatives respectively.

The purpose of the newsletter is to reinforce the objectives of the Platform within this Community in order to disseminate the efforts of the actors who participate in these initiatives. This first edition is made up of news from both operators and promoters, the different trainings in which the clusters have participated are announced, as well as a success story and the experience of an operator with the territorial programs that lead to carried out in an institution along with its successes and challenges. In addition, the invitation to the upcoming events that the Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) is organizing on the promotion of IAPT is included.

The initiatives registered on this Platform are varied, covering a large number of productive sectors and different business areas, in order to promote the exchange of experiences and good practices. The sectors with the greatest number of IAPT are Agriculture, Manufacturing Industries and Tourism, while the most common business areas have an emphasis on generating value, influencing the neighborhood and producing food.

The Bulletin facilitates the promotion of the milestones of this Platform, the intercluster collective actions in the region and the various training and capacity building events in which those who manage these collective actions have participated.
