The American technology company continues working to add features accessibility in its services, so that users can obtain a better experience, in this case, when browsing web pages and listening to their content, similar to a podcast or a song.

Furthermore, this feature also includes controls to play, pause, rewind or fast forward through web page text, as Google has detailed in its help page. In the same way, users will also be able to choose change playback speed or select between different types of voiceas well as activating an option text highlighting and auto scrolling to continue reading.

Likewise, as has been pointed out 9to5Googlewho has had access to this option, allows you to choose between the ‘Ruby’ voice, which has a medium and warm tone; ‘River’, with a medium and calm tone; ‘Field’, with a low and bright tone; and ‘Moss’,offering a low and peaceful tone.
According to this medium, when activating the function a player appears at the bottom of the pagewhich includes a progress bar and play and pause buttons, as well as a close button, and two to move forward or back ten seconds. This player also shows the name of the page and website, and allows you to increase the reading speed.
Thus, to activate this reading mode, it will be enough to Click on the ‘Listen to this page’ function within the browser options menu. Likewise, Google has explained that users will be able to continue browsing the current website or switch to different tabs while listening to the text.
With all this, Google has begun to implement this reading function in Chrome for Android devices, with the new Chrome 125 version.
