China's chargé d'affaires to the United Nations, Dai Bing, has asked the UN Security Council to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict by implementing the two-state solution to end regional tensions and break out of the “circle.” “vicious” instability.
“This new escalation is the latest manifestation of the effect of the Gaza conflict. It reminds us once again that the Palestinian issue is at the core of the Middle East issue and is related to the long-term peace, stability and security of the East. Next. If the Gaza war is allowed to continue, its negative effects will inevitably spread and intensify regional instability,” Dai stated during his speech.
The Chinese diplomat has also recalled that neither the countries nor the population of the region want a larger scale conflict, which is why he has urged the implementation of the Council resolution on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
“The fundamental way out is to fully implement the 'two-state solution' and completely break out of the vicious cycle of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. China calls on the international community, especially influential countries, to play a constructive role in the maintenance of regional peace and stability,” he insisted.
In that sense, he regretted that the international community has been “incapable” of accepting the “humanitarian disaster” in the Palestinian enclave and of “strongly” demanding an immediate ceasefire and the end of the war.
Regarding the recent exchange of attacks between Iran and Israel, Dai recalled that the Israeli bombing against the Iranian Consulate in Damascus “seriously violated” the UN Charter and International Law, and that Tehran's response has “resolved” the “pertinent issues”, although he has shown his concern about said action.
That is why he has asked Israel and Iran to “remain calm” and resolve their differences based on the United Nations Charter and International Law to avoid a further escalation of tensions.
