Characters and methods of the sewers return with the trial of López Madrid and Villarejo’s harassment of Dr. Pinto

The message to López Madrid from the police officer who was investigating Dr. Pinto for harassment: "We are going to win this match"

The defense of Javier López Madrid has managed to delay until next year the trial for harassment, coercion and injuries against Elisa Pinto that was going to be held starting Monday against the businessman. He will sit on the bench next to retired commissioner José Manuel Villarejo. Three days ago, López Madrid’s lawyer unsuccessfully argued that he had not had time to prepare for a trial whose date was set ten months ago and, this Thursday, three days later, he presented a medical report for anxiety that the judge estimated as sufficient reason to postpone the hearing.

The proximity of the trial against López Madrid and Commissioner Villarejo has awakened movements that reproduce the most effervescent era of the police sewers and their surroundings. Eleven days before what was to be the start date of the hearing, a lawyer presented a brief to the court assuring that Villarejo’s accusation results from the manipulation and concert between Dr. Pinto and a commissioner, Jaime Barrado, who investigated the harassment of women for a time.

The events that this lawyer now denounces occurred more than nine years ago, when the doctor recognized Villarejo in a photographic examination to which Commissioner Barrado summoned her. According to the complaining lawyer, both he and another lawyer heard from Commissioner Barrado that everything was a setup to accuse Villarejo.

The identity of these two lawyers is crucial to understanding the last-minute complaint filed by one of them. The person who signs the document is José Luis Moreno Cela, a name that is repeated in the summary of the Villarejo case as a member of the commissioner’s entourage.

In fact, Moreno Cela has recently been charged in one of the pieces accused of having participated in the maneuvers to attack Luis Bárcenas’ lawyer and prevent the publication of information that the lawyer would keep that was harmful to the PP. The one known as ‘Legal Kitchen’ also included the accusation of the number two of the Interior at that time, Francisco Martínez, and Villarejo himself, but it ended up being filed by Judge Manuel García Castellón.

In the complaint, Moreno Cela assures that Commissioner Barrado would have also made that confession in the presence of another lawyer, José Aliste, who would be willing to corroborate it. And who is José Aliste? Well, another regular on Commissioner Villarejo’s agenda and accused in a Madrid court for participating in an episode of the dirty war against Podemos, the Caranjuez case, in charge of the political brigade during the PP Government.

The head of the Criminal Court number 10 of Madrid, which will judge the alleged harassment, coercion and injuries to the doctor, reacted by issuing an ordering order with three lines in which she agreed to forward the parties to the document and, “once verified”, would be returned to its author.

The writing has not, for now, had any further impact on the process. But outside of it. The diary ABC titled: “A new witness accuses the commissioner of Dr. Pinto’s case of manipulating the evidence.” The publication in the newspaper is from September 26 and does not mention the judge’s response returning the brief, agreed upon in a proceeding on September 18, eight days before publication.

Trial postponed eleven years later

Dr. Pinto’s first complaint of harassment in the Police was filed in the fall of 2013. When it seemed that, eleven years later, the time had finally come to judge the facts, another movement has caused its postponement until 2025. Despite the fact that López Madrid is represented by three lawyers involved in the procedure; the anxiety that appears in a medical report presented by the head of the legal team has convinced the judge of the postponement.

According to legal sources, this report is from a medical center that assures that the lawyer describes anxiety related to his work, which is why it recommends 15 days reducing his tasks and taking an anxiolytic. The collapse of justice forces the postponement to mean months of waiting. A long list of those appearing, in days that were going to last for a month, will not find a courtroom available in the Provincial Court until well into next year.

This list of witnesses includes some of the most prominent members of the PP political brigade, including its architect, Commissioner Eugenio Pino, operational director of the Police at the time. Or Commissioner Andrés Gómez Gordo, recently convicted in the City of Justice case and who will sit on the bench in Operation Kitchen alongside Pino.

In the trial for the harassment of the woman, both police officers will have to answer about the maneuvers to prevent Villarejo from undergoing the recognition parade that finally took place in 2017 and that preceded his accusation for having allegedly punctured the doctor three years earlier. while telling him: “López Madrid wants you to shut your mouth.” The Prosecutor’s Office requests 13 years and two months in prison for each of the two accused, Villarejo and López Madrid.

Dirty war on the Internet

Dr. Pinto’s defense has requested the Criminal Court to intervene in the dissemination of two YouTube channels created on September 13 and 21 that attempt to disseminate and position in Internet search engines the thesis of the defenses, according to which, the Dr. Pinto invented the harassment of López Madrid when she was the one who persecuted the businessman, son-in-law of the deceased Juan Miguel Villar Mir.

The doctor was accused of a complaint by López Madrid in that regard, but a Madrid court ended up shelving the proceedings, which continued for years, after the judge investigating the businessman, with the support of the Provincial Court, proposed trying him together. to Villarejo. López Madrid was convicted for Caja Madrid’s Black cards and has yet to sit on the bench in the National Court for hiring Villarejo and in the Lezo case, for corruption along with Ignacio González.
