The Burkina Faso Army has confirmed this Thursday that one of its attack drones has crashed during a reconnaissance mission, although it has attributed what happened to “a technical failure” and has assured that the event has ended without victims.

“The incident, which has involved the loss of the aircraft, has caused no casualties on the ground,” the Burkinabe Army said in a statement, in which it noted that “technical teams, supported by ground units, have been mobilized to recover the remains of the apparatus”.

Likewise, it has indicated that the authorities have opened “an internal investigation” to clarify what happened and has rejected the “fantasy versions imagined by certain individuals on social networks, illustrated with coarse photomontages, are nothing more than pure fiction.”
