() — On the occasion of National Bereavement Awareness Day, the wife of actor Bruce Willis shared how she is dealing with the pain of her husband’s illness.
Emma Heming Willis posted a video montage of Aretha Franklin’s version of “I Say A Little Prayer” on her verified Instagram account.
“This was the summer of self-discovery: finding new hobbies, getting out of my comfort zone, and staying active,” wrote Heming Willis.
“My pain can be crippling, but I’m learning to live with it,” she continued. “As my stepdaughter @scoutlaruewillis told me, pain is the deepest and purest form of love. I hope you find some comfort in that too.”
It included the hashtags #nationalgriefawarenessday #griefawareness and #liveitup.
In March it was announced that Bruce Willis would stop acting due to his diagnosis of aphasia, which affects cognitive abilities.
