Despite the sanctions, Huawei is still alive and making fantastic smartphones even though some are reserved for advanced users only.
A few years ago, Huawei was the best positioned Chinese manufacturer in the fight for the mobile phone market that had always been dominated by Apple and Samsung. Years later, Huawei continues surviving and launching fantastic terminals on the market, but without Google services or the latest processors or modems with 5G. However, advanced users who do not depend on Google services or know how to install them on their own (something really very simple, but not suitable for any consumer who does not know and does not have to know what they buy) will find in Huawei an innovative brand that offers excellent designs and cameras.
These are the new models available in the Huawei catalog and that we can recommend:
Huawei P60Pro
Huawei’s latest mainstream high-end smartphone. It replaces the P50 Pro, and it is a beast in the photographic section. Its 48-megapixel main sensor and a Variable aperture from f/1.4 to f/4.0 It takes good pictures in any situation and with very reliable colors. The amount of detail that it captures even by enlarging the image is enormous and we hardly see artifacts due to excessive processing as we are used to in other Android terminals.
The design is very attractive and neat with curved frames and a matt surface that is impervious to fingerprints. We will also enjoy a 6.67-inch OLED panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a high resolution of 2700 x 1220. It is impossible to see the individual pixels and the text is rendered with perfect sharpness.
It has a better camera than other mobiles of more than 1,000 euros, and it is much more versatile than these. But, of course, without Google services and without 5G connectivity, the user must be very clear about what they are taking home, because it is not a cheap terminal.

Along with the Huawei P60 Pro, the brand launched the world’s thinnest foldable, as barely more than 5mm thick when it is unfolded and 11 mm when it is folded (less than an iPhone, for example) despite the fact that two huge screens are incorporated into it.
It maintains the same format as Oppo or Xiaomi, but it’s lighter and thinner than the competition. In your pocket, it’s like carrying any smartphone, but with the possibility of unfolding it and having a tablet in your pocket. Despite the ingenious ways to reduce its size, Huawei has been able to include a huge panel of almost 8 “inches and a resolution of 2,496 x 224 pixels, with variable refresh rate of up to 120 hz and a 6.4-inch Full HD external screen.
It is not without its drawbacks, yes. The first is its price, which exceeds 2,000 euros, since all this innovation has a price, and, in addition, we must point out that it has a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor without 5G and without Google services. However, if money is not an issue: the Mate X3 is excellent.
Huawei nova 11 Pro
In the mid-range, the so-called nova, Huawei continues to bet on design and the camera as its calling card, and the Nova 11 Pro is the perfect example. His rear is vegan skin which gives you an elegant and modern look thanks to its different colors.
In the photographic section we have an excellent camera to be a mid-range and an amazing double lens system on the front camera up to 60 MP that allows you to select close-up photos with 2x optical zoom, cinematic portraits or close-ups to take a photo with the textures achieved by makeup or eyes, for example.
The processor in a Snapdragon of the last generation, but being a mid-range it is not so decisive, and the camera is well worth it.

An excellent mid-range that incorporates a 6.8-inch full HD LCD screen and a very slim design. In addition to being borderless and with a very small front camera window. It’s all screen, and very comfortable to hold and operate with it by hand.
Again, its camera stands out, one of the best for this price. Your processor is a modest Snapdragon 680but that should be enough to run your operating system fluently, although not to play for hours.
The camera continues to be the main protagonist with a 48 Mpx main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 1/2-inch sensor with 4-pixel binning technology that improves performance in difficult light conditions, boosting the Super Night Shot 2.0 mode for better quality night photos.
Huawei nova Y70
Very good entry-level terminal with a good photographic section in situations of good light, a very compact and light design taking into account the dimensions of its panel and with a huge battery of 6,000mAh. Of course, with a great sacrifice in the quality of its screen, because it is only HD 720p. Perhaps it is one of the ideal smartphones for the elderly or for other types of users for whom it is not essential that the text be read as clearly as possible.
With a 1080p screen and a better processor, it could be a good mid-range terminal.
