Atari and Digital Eclipse have announced an update to the Atari 50 video game compilation, which will arrive on October 25 and what adds 39 extra games and two new timelines, thus collecting more than 140 classic games.

As the company has detailed in a statementwith this expansion they have Collected over 140 classic titles presented with “first-class emulation” which will also allow users to “discover the brand that launched the modern video game industry.”
Specifically, it includes the emulation of recently rescued games and prototypes that had never been released, in addition to “other rare gems” created for seven hardware platforms: Arcade, Atari 800, Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Atari 7800, Atari Jaguar, Atari Lynx.
In addition to video games, Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration – Expanded Edition offers Over 13 new exclusive interview segments with key industry figures of video games, such as programmers, artists, historians and home game developers.
One of the new timelines it includes is the line of the Atari’s Wide Worldwhat includes 19 games and eight video segmentsand that is about show in depth the history of the company and how he managed to influence creators and players “throughout the decades.”
For example, you can access a analysis of the game Berzerk from Steam Electronicswhose protagonists are destructive robots and which has “unusual innovations” from the late 80s.
