The Pakistani authorities have confirmed this Sunday at least 39 fatalities after a bus plunged into a ravine in Lasbela, in the province of Balochistan, Pakistan.
The vehicle had at least 48 passengers on board, of whom four have been rescued alive, and was heading to the city of Karachi from Quetta, more than 600 kilometers away, when it fell down a ravine at dawn. Sunday.
According to the Pakistani newspaper ‘Geo News’, the authorities have stated that the accident occurred due to speeding, since the driver would have lost control of the vehicle.
The authorities, rescue services and firefighters have come to the scene of the incident to try to extinguish the flames produced after the bus caught fire when it crashed.
The injured passengers have been transferred to the Lasbela Civil Hospital while the rescue work continues, which would have been difficult to carry out due to the winter temperatures and the lack of light at that time of the morning.
