Asus has presented its new ROG Ally X consolewhich updates the original ROG Ally ‘hardware’ by increasing the Battery capacity doubled with 80Whthe amount of RAM what happens to be 24GBand entering a more ergonomic design, which improves the ‘joysticks’ and adds durability.

The company has shared all the news about its new console within the framework of the Computex 2024 annual computing fairwhich is held in Taipei (Taiwan) and will open its doors to the public from Tuesday, June 4 to Friday, June 7.

Specifically, the ROG Ally design, as the technology company already announced last May.

In this sense, ROG Ally X It has a battery with double the capacity of its predecessorgoing from 40Wh to 80Wh and, therefore, increases the autonomy of the console, which will allow you to play for longer without interruptions.

Following this line, the Taiwanese technology company has also improved RAM memory from the console, increasing its quantity to 24GB LPDDR5X-7500 memory, compared to the 16GB LPDDR5-6400 that the original ‘hardware’ had. Therefore, the new RAM memory also has more bandwidth.

Another of the advances presented has to do with storage capacity, which now has gone from 512GB to 1TB PCIe Gen 4 with M.2 2280 support.

Regarding its design, it maintains the lines of the original console, however, it has been modified to offer a more ergonomic finish that makes its use more comfortable and, therefore, facilitates the experience with video games. To do this, Asus has placed the ‘joysticks’ and buttons so that users can better reach all controls when exchanging from one to another.

Besides, the D-Pad or D-Pad has been improved to offer more precision in its pulsation, and the durability of the joysticks has been increased, with capacity for withstand 5 million cycles without presenting any deterioration, compared to the 2 million circles guaranteed by the previous model.

Likewise, it presents a redesigned black chassis with slightly deeper grips and a more rounded shape to improve comfort. Regarding its weight, it has increased 70 grams Compared to the previous model, however, it has a “perfectly centered” weight distribution, so as to ensure comfort when playing.

Asus has also noted that the new console has improved connection capabilities by integrating two USB-C portsone of them with Thunderbolt connectivity. However, the company has dispensed with the ROG XG Mobile port, which allowed the console to be combined with an external XG Mobile GPU.

On the other hand, the new ROG Ally ‘Zero Gravity Thermal Solution’ cooling system (‘zero gravity thermal solution’), which uses new 0.1mm “ultra-thin” fans which further facilitate the air flow in the console and, therefore, help its performance and the gaming experience.

With this heat dissipation system and the new fans, the company has commented that it achieves an improved air flow by 24 percent, thus Cools the console up to six degrees more.

In addition to all this, Asus has pointed out that the new ROG Ally X maintains some features such as the processor AMD Ryzen Z1 Extremein addition to the screen 7-inch 120Hz Full HD (1080p). Likewise, it allows executing Windows 11.

Regarding its operating system, Asus has announced an update of Armory Crate SE version 1.5, that will launch in July this year with new features to improve the players’ experience. In addition, this software update will also reach the original ROG Ally.

This update has a More intuitive user interface with more customization capabilities. For example, it has implemented new tabs at the top to better organize video game content. Among these tabs, there is a ‘favorites’ sectionfor players to add their favorite games as quick access.

Likewise, players will be able to switch between a screen view in grid format or list format and, in addition, they may opt for a “carousel” format. All this to navigate more easily between all the available video games.

The new Asus ROG Ally X console can now be reserved in the Asus eshop, with a price of 899 euros, and will begin shipping at the end of July.
