Apple would face a blockade in Europe if it limits fast charging to its cables

There is less and less time left for Apple to launch the next generation of its iPhones, which are believed to come with USB-C ports at the bottom. However, the machinery that makes rumors move has mentioned on more than one occasion that Apple would artificially limit the charging speeds of its terminals if certified cables are not used.

This would be fine, except that we are not talking about a universal certification, but about the MFi certification, Apple’s own certification –of which it takes an economic part- that serves to denote those accessories “made for iPhone”, Just as the name suggests, so these cables would still be the same input system as the current Lightning port.

This action would not be compatible with the directive that requires Apple to mount USB-C portswhich is why they could be blocked in Europe. However, this directive does not enter into force until 2024so that this terminal could arrive with limited speeds if we do not use MFi accessories, something that will sow fear among Apple device owners as well.

We will have to see how Apple acts in this case, but definitely, we cannot expect good behavior from the company.
