The National Authority for Environmental Licenses (Anla) spoke in relation to the situation of the Alpha and Beta wind projects, in charge of the company EDP Renewableswhich have been showing delays in their schedule, and reiterated their commitment to the country’s energy development.
According to the company, construction has been affected by environmental licensing issues, such as the prior consultation process for the transmission line from the parks to the Cuestecitas substation, which was archived by ANLA.

The entity stressed that since 2018 it has licensed 20 projects of Non-Conventional Sources of Renewable Energy in the countryof which six correspond to wind and 14 to solar.

“It is important to clarify that the entity’s mission is none other than the environmental evaluation of project license applications, which must guarantee the sustainable development of the country.”, indicated the Anla.

As stated by the entity in its communication, This demands the presentation of quality environmental studies and technical rigor. “that meet the requirements set forth in the terms of reference established”.
