Available sometime in the first quarter of 2025, the new Radeon RX 9070 (base and of third-generation accelerators, media compression and AI processing, which will reportedly receive “a significant boost” over current cards.
Another notable novelty of these cards will be the acceleration of performance using FSR 4 scaling and frame generation technology, which will only work on new generation hardware. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will natively support this feature, although it may also work in games that already support FSR 3.1.
Finally, AMD will incorporate generative AI functions into the Adrenalin software to generate images, locate documents on the PC and resolve questions about the operation of graphics cards.
Judging by the very few images released by the firm, the main manufacturers will market their own versions of the cards, which could be interpreted as a promising sign.
AMD should provide more information (a lot more information, in fact) about its Radeon RX 9070 graphics cards later. It will be then when we have figures for compute units, memory, watts and prices, in addition to some benchmarks that will help us better understand its positioning compared to an Nvidia that will hold its conference at CES this morning.
