Amazon Web Services (AWS) has inaugurated its region clouds in Aragon, with three availability zones distributed among the provinces of Huesca Y Saragossa, in which it plans to invest up to 2,500 million euros in the next decade. the subsidiary clouds de Amazon has launched its first Infrastructure Region in Spain, the eighth in Europe, which is added to those already available in large European cities such as Dublin, Stockholm, Frankfurt, London, Milan, Paris and Zurich. The company’s objective is to promote innovation and digital transformation of Spain, as well as contributing to national and regional economic growth. The opening of the first region clouds of Amazon Web Services in Spain was born with the purpose of allowing developers, startupsentrepreneurs and companies, as well as public, educational and non-profit organizations, store data safely within the national territory. In addition, it aims to improve services for end users with even lower latency.
Vice President of Infrastructure Services at AWS, Prasad Kalyanaramanhas celebrated the opening of the first region clouds in Spain, world-class, which “will allow organizations of all types and sizes to accelerate innovation, improve business processes and reinvent the experiences of their customers and end users”.
AWS has announced a fund of 150,000 euros for Aragon
In addition to opening its first infrastructure region, AWS has announced a background called AWS InCommunitiesworth €150,000 for the Aragon region as part of its commitment to society. With this fund, it intends to help the community improve socioeconomic living conditions by helping local groups, schools and organizations to start new projects with an impact on the local community.
Amazon Web Services counts from this Wednesday with 93 Availability Zones in 29 different geographic regions. Almost a hundred areas that add to the announced plans to launch 18 new Availability Zones plus in six AWS Regions in Australia, Canada, India, Israel, New Zealand, and Thailand. The company assures that it has tens of thousands of clients in the Iberian Peninsula.
Some Business that have celebrated this new opening are BBVA, Cabify, the Social Security IT Management (GISS), Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, Meliá, Renfe and Repsol. But not only Spanish companies have celebrated the opening of the new region clouds of Amazon in Aragon, but the President of the Government himself, Pedro Sanchez, has welcomed the investment of technology in national territory. “It is an important milestone that helps position our country as a leading digital economy“said the president.
