After scanning a "blank area" Under the pyramids of Giza, we have found something even more mysterious: an L-shaped structure

Everything that revolves around the pyramids of Egypt is fascinating for modern society, not in vain, we still have more doubts than certainties about this amazing construction that took place thousands of years ago. A few weeks ago we discovered an ancient canal that connected the pyramids of Egypt, and now they have found a strange unknown structure at relatively shallow depth.

An unidentified structure. A team of researchers from Higashi Nippon International University, Tohoku University and Egypt’s National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics scanned beneath the sand surface in a “blank area” of Giza’s western cemetery next to the Great Cheops Pyramid. Thus they found something surprising: an ancient underground L-shaped Egyptian structure. It is suggested that it may have served as an entrance to a tomb or as an underground chamber, a construction site that was later, for whatever reason, filled with sand.

Burial area. The Western Cemetery, also known as Giza West Camp, is located on the Giza Plateau, west of the Great Pyramid of Giza. The enclave is divided into several smaller cemeteries consisting of alignments of mastabas and underground structures.

These mastabas served as funerary structures for the royal family and upper-class officials, and were notable for their flat roof and rectangular design built from limestone or adobe. The central feature of its construction is a vertical axis that connects with an underground chamber. Precisely, the L-shaped structure was located at a depth of 2 meters directly to the south of the G4000 mastaba.

Place where they have found the structure

A multi-year study. It began in 2021, when the team carried out geophysical work using a combination of ground penetrating radar (GPR) and electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) to look below the surface. These preliminary studies found anomalies that “could be vertical limestone walls or shafts leading to a structure tomb.”

That first clue led to a series of subsequent studies using another type of ground-penetrating radar to determine the shape of the large anomaly. The results showed that L-shaped structure of approximately 10 by 15 meters that is located about two meters below the ground.

Other revelations in the Great Pyramid of Giza. In addition to the recent discovery and the hidden channel discovered, that ancient channel that connects 38 pyramid complexes of Ancient Egypt, in March of last year it was discovered a hidden corridor near the main entrance of the Great Pyramid of Giza. Finds all around the last of the Seven Wonders of the World, a lavish architecture built as a monumental tomb around the year 2560 BC. C. during the reign of Pharaoh Cheops.
