Acer has introduced at Computex 2023 a new swift series laptopSwift Edge 16, designed for professional use, which integrates an AMD Ryzen 7040 processor and Radeon 780M graphics card, along with its First WiFi 6E mesh router made with recycled materials.

Swift Edge 16 (SFE16-43) features a slim (12.95mm) and light (1.23kg) magnesium alloy chassis, encased in a black coating. frame a 16-inch OLED screen with 3.2K resolution (3,200 x 2,000), 120Hz refresh rate and 0.2ms response time.

This screen is compatible with 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, has a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, and a maximum brightness of 500 nits. It is also VESA DisplayHDR True Black 50 certified, for accurate colors and high contrast, and TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe display certification, for visual comfort.

The laptop works with AMD Ryzen 7040 processors and with AMD Radeon 780M graphics, and features AMD Ryzen AI on select models. As for ‘software’, it has installed Windows 11, and for user authentication, it integrates a fingerprint reader with Windows Hello.

The laptop also comes with up to 32GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage, Wi-Fi 7 support (with enhanced speeds of up to 5.8 Gbps), Microsoft Pluton, and a host of smart features. It will be available in Spain from July, from 1,199 euros.

FIRST WIFI 6E MESH ROUTER MADE WITH PCR

Acer has also brought to Computex its First WiFi 6E mesh ‘router’ made with 30 percent post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR) in its case, Acer Connect Vero W6, which also includes an Eco mode, in which it combines performance and energy efficiency.

Connect Vero W6m achieves top speeds of up to 7.8Gbps with Tri-Band AXE7800 (2.4GHz/5GHz/6GHz), and can be paired with up to four other models, offering network ranges of up to 5,000 square feet in a dual-mesh system and up to 1,000 square feet in a quad mesh system.

This ‘router’ integrates a 2GHz MediaTek quad-core A53 processor with 1GB of LPDDR RAM and 4GB of memory capacity. And in cybersecurity, Acer has highlighted that it complies with the cybersecurity regulations EN 303 645 (RED) of the EU.
