9 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
A survey published this Sunday places the Likud party of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in third position after winning 20 seats, 12 fewer than it currently has, while Benny Gatz’s National Unity party would be the most voted, with 29 deputies. , far from the current 12.
Behind National Unity would be what is currently the main opposition party, Yesh Atid, led by Yair Lapid, which would go from 24 to 21 seats, according to the Channel 13 television study.
The drop in support for Likud would be the consequence of the weeks of mobilizations against the controversial judicial reform promoted by Netanyahu with the support of the far-right parties that are part of the government coalition. The initiative has been paralyzed to try to reach a consensus with opposition parties.
Behind the three main parties would be Religious Zionism, with 11 seats; followed by the ultra-orthodox Mizrahi Shas party, with 9 seats, and the ultra-orthodox Ashkenazi United Torah Judaism party.
The Arab Hadash-Taal party would get six seats and the Islamist party Raam would get five, the same as the secular conservative Yisrael Beitenu party. Four would win the Labor Party; four also the Arab party Balad and the party of left Meretz would remain without representation.
With these data, the parties that currently support the Netanyahu government would win 46 seats, while the bloc against Netanyahu would add 64, even without the support of the Arab parties Hadash-Taal and Balad.
