A new search experience and power-saving settings options, coming soon for Xbox

13 Apr. (Portaltic/EP) –

Microsoft has presented the update that will come to Xbox systems and that includes a new search experience and the ability to configure active hours of the platform, a function focused on saving energy on the console.

This new system versioncorresponding to the month of April, will begin to be implemented this week, allows you to search the YouTube video platform, an option included in the ‘Movies and TV’ tab, as explained by the company in a statement.

The developer has commented that its team “continues providing new ways to improve Xbox” and refining the user experience of its interface, proposing a new search format that includes a new look.

To make the interface more visual, it has introduced gallery-style results and a system of categories and visible and navigable filters with the controller triggers (specifically, with the ‘RB’ and ‘LB’ buttons).

On the other hand, it has announced that with this update of its system, the power settings can also be adjusted “at any time”, as long as the ‘Settings, ‘General’ and ‘Power Options’ menu is accessed.

This functionality, which was already presented last February and with which it proposes to save energy when the platform is not being used, has several options. One of them is the suspension, so that the console turns off in selected sections and hours.

After the hours of activity are over, the platform automatically turns off and will consume 0.5 watts compared to 10 or 15 watts it would use if it were on and active.
