The Belgian police has reduced this Monday in the vicinity of the headquarters of the Commission and of the Council of the European Union to an individual who moments before stabbed a youngreported the municipal authorities.
The attack occurred at around 6:00 p.m. at the nearby Schuman train and metro station, in the heart of the European quarter and, according to the photos of the attack, resulted in injured on one arm or side.
The aggressor stabbed the victim in a subway car and then he ran out and tried to attack other people in the station until several armed policemen were able to subdue him, according to videos posted by witnesses on social networks.
The individual was detained by the police and the authorities temporarily blocked the exit of the EU Council building that overlooks the area where the health services treated the injured man and where a meeting of agriculture ministers is being held today.
It is unknown at the moment motivation of the attack.
