Now you can share your WhatsApp account on another phone

A few months ago, WhatsApp Beta (version 2.22.10.13) made a multi-device testing feature available to users. With it, those who have Android phones will be able to link several devices with the same account. There was already the possibility of using the messaging service simultaneously, on a mobile phone and on a computer.

With the new improvement that has officially reached all WhatsApp users, it will be possible to log in on more than one phone because, until now, when a user tried to do so, WhatsApp unlinked the account from one of the devices. That will no longer happen and sharing the same account is now possible on Android and iOS.

How does multi-device WhatsApp work?

To activate this new function, the WhatsApp client only has to access a new interface to connect the complementary phone, enter the phone number of the main account.

Next, the user must scan, through the main device, a QR code that will appear on the ‘companion’ or ‘secondary’ device. Both on Android and iOS. And so the account will be synchronized on the new device.

What about the message history?

Chat history will be securely synced across all your linked devices.

How many phones can I connect to a single WhatsApp account?

Users can connect up to four different devices. In such a way that the messages will be received in all of them. However, some features are not enabled for companion devices, such as updating status, as this must be done from the account’s primary device.
