( ) — The grand finale of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will be this Saturday, May 13, starting at 3:00 p.m. Miami time. In the contest, which this year takes place in Liverpool, United Kingdom, 26 participants will compete for the votes of the public and the juries.
During the two semifinals, held on May 9 and 11, the public selected the 20 participants who will compete this Saturday. For the first time, voting was open to Eurovision viewers from all over the world and not just those from the participating countries.
Voting in the semifinals lasted 15 minutes, according to the established rules for the contest.
Which participants made it to the final?
In the first semifinal, 15 contestants appeared and in the second, 16. During each one, 10 participants were selected.
The other six contestants belong to the so-called Big Five (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom), which, as the countries with the most financial contributions to the contest, have a qualification prior to the final. In addition, the host country is added, in this case, Ukraine.

- Rowing Forrer (Switzerland), with the song “Watergun”

- Vesna (Czech Republic), with the song “My Sister’s Crown”
- Noah Kirel (Israel), with the song “Unicorn”
- Mimicat (Portugal), with the song “Ai Coração”
- loreen (Sweden), with the song “Tattoo”
- Luke Black (Serbia), with the song “Samo Mi Se Spava”
- alessandra (Norway), with the song “Queen of Kings

In the second semifinal the 10 selected were:
- Andrew Lambrou (Cyprus), with the song “Break A Broken Heart”
- Teya & Salena (Austria), with the song “Who The Hell is Edgar?”
- Reiley (Denmark), with the song “Breaking my heart”
- iru (Georgia), with the song “Echo”
- Alika (Estonia), with the song “Bridges”
- Monika Linkyte (Lithuania), with the song “Stay”
- Victor Veronicos (Greece), with the song “What They Say”
- Blanka (Poland), with the song “Solo”
- dilja (Iceland), with the song “Power”
- Picked Jacks (Romania), with the song “DGT (Off and On)”
It should be remembered that both in the semifinals and in the final the juries also vote in addition to the public. Nevertheless, this year the votes of the juries did not count for the semifinals, so the spectators had all the power to decide.

The Eurovision 2023 grand final will begin broadcasting from 3 pm Miami time on Saturday.
You can follow the event on the contest YouTube channel.
The live broadcast can be seen on television on the national channels of all participating countries.
It will also be broadcast through the broadcasters sponsoring the contest in Europe.
In some of the non-participating countries the event can also be seen, for example in the United States it can be seen on Peacock and in Chile on channel 13 SPA.
What you need to know about the grand finale
Normally, the host country is the winner of last year’s contest. In this case, the 2022 winner was Ukraine, but due to the war in Russia, he was unable to hold this year’s contest in his country and therefore it is held in Liverpool, United Kingdom. Despite this, Ukraine maintains its place in the grand final.

Once the 26 Eurovision 2023 presentations are over, voting is open for approximately 40 minutes.
The contest is won by the participant who achieves the most points in the voting system made up of an audience and juriesand sings his song again.
