( ) — The name of Beéle has been around the music scene for relatively few years.
In 2019, when he released “Loco”, his first song, he had the luck that many wish for: his internationalization came with just one song under his arm. She was barely 16 years old when the subject went viral and her name not only echoed through the streets of her native Barranquilla, in Colombia.
“Crazy It was the first and the one that completely led me to try other countries. The one that I still promote today. It is the song that has opened doors for me all over the world, when it came out it was number one in almost 16-20 countries”, Beéle tells Zona Pop from a recording studio in Miami, shortly before the premiere of his most recent single, “Guaro”.
“I am very excited about the whole process that I have had to go through. Everything to this day has been very nice, they have been days full of learning, sessions filled with a lot of love, a lot of passion and a lot of music”, says the interpreter.
Despite being 20 years old and having started in the industry four years ago, Beéle already adds to her repertoire collaborations with artists such as Maluma, Piso 21, TINI, Lenny Tavárez and Feid, among others.
How did your musical career start?
The self-taught beginnings of Beele
His room and a guitar were Beéle’s confidants in his adolescence. His curiosity is what led him to explore music between the ages of 10 and 12, the age at which he began to compose his first songs.
“I’m very curious and sometimes I don’t realize when I get addicted to things. Music is something of that. My principles were basically a guitar, learning myself, being locked in the room, looking for a way to empty everything that my mind and my heart felt at that moment, “explains the singer to Zona Pop .
“At 16 was the point where my career began, and everything was looking different. The music came to life for me and my body was completely filled with those kinds of sensations and emotions”, she adds.
Shortly after came the collaboration with Ovy On The Drums, “Inolvidable”. This was an opportunity that Beéle did not waste, after all, not many have the fortune to work with Karol G’s producer, who is behind songs like “Tusa”, “Provence”, “Bichota”, among others.
How was that first approach with the producer? “I feel that the vibe was what he called us. From the first time I met him, he had told me that he wanted to do that song with me, that it was a song that I had already composed for a while”, recalls Beéle.
It was a success: it accumulates more than 193.8 million views on Spotify and exceeds 308 million views in Youtube. This triumph, says Beéle, was not expected… less with a ballad.
“I wrote that song when I was 14 years old. she hadn’t even written Crazy. I learned that many of the songs that I always do [tengan] like that flow immortal, that no matter how long they leave, they always cause something ”, he says.
The new Colombian musical litter
For years, Colombia has been one of the Latin countries with the most projection of musical talent. From Carlos Vives, Shakira, through Juanes, Fonseca or even Sebastián Yatra, Maluma or J Balvin. The songs of its artists have dominated the radio charts and now streaming.
However, a new crop of talent, including Beéle, is attracting worldwide attention.
Artists like Ryan Castro and Blessd sound more and more on the reproduction lists and their tours include countries not only in the American continent, but also Europe, which is lying at the feet of Colombians.
What is currently happening with Colombia?
“In my opinion, we are at a point where everyone is motivating themselves and they are taking what I feel represents Colombia. Many people work in the right way, showing their talent, exposing it”, says Beéle.
The singer has a collaboration with Blessd, “Enchulao” and precisely highlights the growth of his compatriots, something that directly benefits new urban talent.
“What has happened with Ryan (Castro) and Blessd has been super incredible and also great for Colombia in general, because the music they make also represents us a lot,” he adds.
Spirituality and Beele
In the foreign press they highlight a quality of Beéle: his approach to God and how he lives his spirituality. And it is that for some she is surprised that a 20-year-old is an open believer. He is not the only one of this new breed: Blessd (from blessed, in English) is also another who has openly professed his faith. Camilo Echeverry is also another who lives his spirituality both in his songs and in interviews, social networks and concerts.
“We have all had to go through both spiritual and personal processes. What I feel has happened with my life has been a complete encounter with God throughout this process and that, for me, from my point of view, I owe everything to him”, he explains.
For the singer, being focused on his spirituality has helped him keep his feet on the ground, he says.
“I don’t let myself be blinded by luxuries or anything like that, since one also knows and takes into account the love of God and how important little things are in this life, like having him in our hearts. There one understands much more that it is worth moving forward with that spirituality and that hope and not with ambition ”, he adds.
